Acts 8:1-25 Obstacles that Become Opportunities

November 24th, 2009

1. God turns obstacles into opportunities for mission!

-What happens to us when we live for God like we have nothing left to lose?

-You can’t be fully contained and identified by your natural abilities.  The Holy Spirit wants to accomplish things through you that no human being is “equipped” by themselves to do.
-The things that appear to threaten to destroy our effectiveness in God’s Mission can actually be used by God to catylize and energize us towards God’s purposes as we contend for the fullness of the Holy Spirit in our lives…

2. The Apostles contend for the fullness of the Holy Spirit in the life of each new believer.
3. The gift of the Holy Spirit cannot be bought or bent to bring about self-centered human agendas.
-Are we willing to embrace a different kind of a future than the one we previously enjoyed knowing that God is going to use it for his greater purposes?

-Are we willing to Contend as the Apostle’s did for the fullness of the Holy Spirit in peoples lives?

-Are we willing to abandon or thoughts of comfort, prestige and power and embrace truly rennovated hearts that embrace the Holy Spirit’s agenda instead of ours?
Prayer requests for the season ahead as the Aqueous family.

Acts 6 - One Big Kingdom Family! (Now what?)

November 24th, 2009

1. Being part of one big Kingdom family creates unique challenges and opportunities!

2. The Acts Church values and practices holistic ministry (ministry of the Word and Prayer and ministry to physical needs)
3. For new needs and new opportunities, God empowers new leaders.

Two qualifications for Godly leadership: filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom.
Two characteristics of Godly leadership: full of grace and power.

4.  Opposition arises to the revolution of the Kingdom of God, yet the opposition can’t “stand up” to the Holy Spirit (working through surrendered people!)

In what ways has God called you to minister to others in your “Kingdom Family?”
How can we grow into people who could be described as “filled with the Holy Spirit and Wisdom” and “full of grace and power?”

Acts 2 - What is God doing?

October 18th, 2009

Acts 2…Rock!

We are the continuation, through the holy spirit of the movement of the kingdom of God.

God uses wonders and signs to reveal himself.

Instead of asking ‘God, what is your will for my life?’ can we ask ‘God, what are you doing right now and how can I be a part of it?’
