Gatherings

We meet Sunday's at 4:00pm at the Isla Vista Elementary School in the multi-purpose room. Our gatherings usually include a time of worship lead by one of our many talented worship leaders playing with a group of our gifted musicians. Also, there is conversation, a message or collective experience that explores an aspect of the Scripture and helps us to consider our lives as a part of God's Story. Our gatherings often involve interactive experiences where those in attendance become a part of creating the dynamic of the gathering. Our gatherings always take place in an environment that is highly conducive to conversation, friendship and connection. All are welcome! Once every couple of months, we turn our gathering into a community meal where we share food and friendship together.

Aqua Kids

As a part of our gatherings, we have special activities and experiences planned for our kids led by an excellent, caring and fun team of teachers. From birth through sixth grade, kids have the opportunity to be cared for, taught and lead through processes that are unique to their ages and stages. Aqua kids focuses on creating experiences where our kids can begin their own journey of relating to God, one another and their world in a caring, respectful and joyful environment. Our kids meet in the IV school Kindergarten classrooms (located just through the doors to the right of the stage as you are facing it.) Our kids are invited to follow their teachers to their respective classrooms after our first couple of songs. If you have an infant or toddler, you are welcome to walk them back and check them in if you like!

Events

Many of the events planned by the Aqueous Community are simply an "intentionalizing" of the collective aspect of life and friendship. The phrase "doing faith where life happens" seems to apply. Since our Gathering takes place on Saturday evening, many Sunday mornings or afternoons find us hanging out with friends at the beach. Often we'll catch a movie together or participate as a community in an event that is taking place somewhere around town.

H20 Groups

H20 groups are smaller groups of people that meet for a specific type of conversation or interaction during the week. There is always the opportunity to share life, interact around God's words, and support one another in prayer.

Collectives

Occasionally, we will gather the community together for a specific purpose outside of our regular gatherings. These collectives are often a rich time of sharing life, receiving prayer or planning the future.

Community Projects

Often we will join together to serve a specific need in our community. In addition to our ongoing Project Care, we find places to get involved as a group in situations where our collective effort can make a difference and be an extension of the faith, hope and love that we share.
